Who makes all those Vermont maple goodies?

The maple industry is big business these days with owners often far removed from the making of their products. But at Trade Winds Farm, owners Tim and Loraine Hescock, still personally make almost all of your favorite maple products.

Making maple candy

Loraine Hescock makes all of the farm's maple candy offerings, which becomes a full-time job during the 2 weeks prior to Christmas. And yes, she still finds time to answer all those holiday phone calls!

Making maple cream

Tim Hescock personally makes each batch of maple cream, about 30 lbs at a time. Each year about 4 barrels of hand selected maple syrup are set aside for maple cream, yielding about a 1000 pounds of cream a year.
